Chef Andrew Bachelier

"Manna... an unexpected blessing, especially at a time when it is needed the most."

The moments we feel like we are wandering in search of our better selves, Manna guides us to the next level, boosts our vitality and fortifies our self-worth. You can’t do it all on your own… so, here we are. Atelier Manna was created to provide a soulful place for the community to feel at ease, and inspired. A place where the community can be served nourishing, quality ingredients with innovation and imagination at the forefront.

Atelier Manna represents the continuation of Chef Andrew Bachelier’s life-long dream, and is the culmination of over two decades of hospitality, unparalleled dedication, and experience leading & innovating in the hallowed kitchens of some of the worlds finest restaurants. Alongside Chef De Cuisine Marlaw Seraspi, Bachelier & the culinary team will have a space to explore their inspirations, and share their talents with the community.

As a pop-up installation, Atelier Manna currently operates as a chef-driven breakfast and lunch café, test kitchen, and creative space for the community. The menu changes often to reflect what we find at the farmers markets, and as the seasons change. Over time, the concept will evolve to begin hosting chef collaboration dinners, supper clubs, private events for members of the community, and much more.

The constant that connects Atelier Manna’s current and future concepts is a true passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and a dedication to serving the community nourishing food and beverage that leaves our guests feeling happy, healthy, and satisfied.

BEVERAGE PROGRAM

Nick Sinutko, former bar manager of Campfire in Carlsbad Village, brings over a decade of hospitality, wine, cocktail, and spirits knowledge with him. He brings this experience to the beverage program at Atelier Manna, which seeks to highlight local & organic produce through the creation of thoughtfully composed vitality tonics, a rotating selection of regionally-inspired homemade sodas, and fresh juices that aim to promote wellness and vitality in an elevated manner. In addition to these creations, Atelier Manna’s loose-leaf teas are meticulously sourced and individually brewed to order, aiming to provide the best drinking experience possible.

Anchoring Atelier Manna’s coffee program is Steady State Roasting, led by founder & master roaster Elliot Reinecke. Atelier Manna serves a rotating selection of Steady State’s masterfully produced coffees; both in drip and cold brew formats.

DESIGN INSPIRATION

Designer Taylor Morgan envisioned the space to relay the qualities of wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that favors the organic elements of life – modesty, imperfection, and simplicity. The elegant Japanese philosophy is about embracing flaws, rediscovering simplicity and learning to love the natural process of aging; most importantly focusing on raw elements that are organic, handmade and sustainable.

Andrew’s wife, Larah Bachelier, also utilized her keen eye for detail and artistic flair by bringing elements of color and whimsy to the space and furniture selection, sourcing ‘up-cycled’ and reused materials from various business from North County San Diego, and hand-crafted goods discovered on trips through Mexico.
